Hotel American is a beautifully restored, cozy hotel in a quiet residential area just a few steps away from all of Venice’s major attractions: San Marco Square – the Academy of Fine Arts – the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation – the 18th century Cŕ Rezzonico Palace – Palazzo Grassi.
For our guests’ pleasure and convenience, we offer a reading room, a small cafe, a flower-decked terrace, and a private dock for motorboats and gondolas.

Where We Are
Hotel American is located in a residential area, off of the Grand Canal, near the Accademia di Belle Arti, the Guggenheim Museum, the Church of S. Maria della Salute, San Marco Square, and the Rialto Bridge.
You can be brought by boat directly to the hotel thanks to our private dock for gondolas and motorboats, reserved for our customers’ sole use.
PARKING (Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto Island)
You can leave your car in a large parking lot on Tronchetto Island, at the end of the bridge across the lagoon. At Piazzale Roma, you can park your car either at the Garage Comunale or Garage San Marco. Take a public boat (“vaporetto”) or a private water-taxi to the Hotel.
Take the # 82 vaporetto to the "Accademia" stop (#12) from which it is only a two-minute walk to our hotel. A private water-taxi can drop you directly in front of our hotel. The service costs approximately 50.00 Euro for two passengers, including luggage.
TRAIN STATION (S. Lucia)
From Venice’s train station, S. Lucia, you can reach our Hotel with public boats (“vaporetto”) or with a private water-taxi service. Take the # 82 vaporetto to the "Accademia" stop (#12) from which it is only a two-minute walk to our hotel. A private water-taxi will drop you directly in front of our hotel. The service costs approximately 50.00 Euro for two passengers, including luggage.
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Marco Polo)
From Venice's International Airport (Marco Polo) take a city bus in the direction of Piazzale Roma. – Buy tickets for the ACTV or ATVO city buses from a ticket dispenser in the airport lobby. You may also choose to use the waterbus service connecting the airport to Lido and San Marco Square. Another option is taking a private water-taxi to Venice for 85.00 Euro (for two passengers, including luggage).
From Piazzale Roma, take the #82 public boat to the "Accademia" stop (#12) from which it is only a two-minute walk to our hotel. You may want to take advantage of special unlimited tickets offered at the public bus (ACTV) ticket office, valid for 24 hrs., 3 days or one week).
From Piazzale Roma you may also take a private water-taxi that will drop you directly in front of our hotel. The service costs approximately 50.00 Euro for two passengers, including luggage.
